Amy Azzara is a versatile vocalist based in New York City. Born in Hartford, CT and raised in Rochester, NY, she was immersed in music from day one of her life. Amy learned songs by ear and was surrounded by musicians. For her, music and life have always been inseparable.

Amy's deepest influences are her parents. Her dad is a professor and graduate of the Eastman School of Music and her mom is a graduate of Eastman and Yale. Her grandparents are musicians as well. Amy grew up singing songs with her family and friends on the back porch.

about amy
Present day means navigating life in Manhattan, singing in the New York scene, and working on creative projects. Amy sings in a variety of styles and colors (range E3-C6). She adores recording both at home and in the studio and has strong sight-reading skills. One of Amy's assets is her ability to sing in different settings: as a soloist, as a background vocalist, in a group. She deeply believes that the voice transcends genre, and one can learn to sing in any style.

Azzara's originals are central to her artistry, and her released works are available on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services. Through original music, she expresses her feelings and her understanding of the world. Her latest releases are entitled “Assumptions,” and “little computers.” She is currently working on a musical with her childhood best friend Bridget Welch.

Azzara teaches voice and beginning piano lessons. Teaching is humbling: to play a role in the learning process and pass along what she has learned from her teachers is invaluable.
Amy is a collaborator of Foray Music. "FORAY MUSIC is committed to being a positive resource for musicians of all ages and levels. We’re primarily focused on learning new techniques and concepts to make deeper, more fulfilling music. FORAY MUSIC also features interviews and discussions you'll find nowhere else." Charlie Christenson (Foray Music is his brainchild), Alexandria DeWalt, and Amy host a weekly podcast, where they have thoughtful, honest, fun conversations about life and music. Charlie, Alex, and Amy also write a newsletter, available to read at foraymusic.substack.com.
